Weather here changes so much day to day that I wanted something I could use most of the year rather than swapping blankets every few weeks. This has covered most evenings since spring.

Softer against the skin than I expected from a cotton throw — no scratchiness at all, even before the first wash.

Our bedroom doesn't hold heat well in the evenings, but this is still lighter than reaching for a second duvet. Kids don't seem to overheat under it either, which was the main worry.

Trying to buy fewer things but better quality this year, and this was one of the purchases that's actually paid off — still looks and feels the same as when it arrived, three months in.

Appreciated that it's just cotton, no blend hidden in small print somewhere. Doesn't pill after a few washes either, which I half expected given the price.

First thing I do with any new bedding is give it a sniff before washing — no chemical smell on this one, which isn't always the case with cheaper cotton throws I've bought.

We've never agreed on room temperature, so this has ended up being the one blanket we both tolerate. Light enough for me, still feels like something for him.

I run warm at night regardless of the season, so most blankets end up kicked to the floor by 2am. This one stays on more often than not — enough weight to feel like something's there, not enough to make me overheat.

Easy to fold flat and doesn't take up much room in the airing cupboard between seasons, unlike the bulkier throws we've got. Comes back out just as soft as it went in.

First impression out of the bag was that it looked a bit creased and thin, but that settled once it was actually on the bed. Softer to the touch than I expected from the photos.

Kept in the conservatory for evenings in the garden once it starts cooling down. Breathable enough that it doesn't feel clammy sitting out there with a cup of tea, unlike the acrylic one it replaced.

Not the cheapest throw I could have bought, but it's the one I keep reaching for over the three others I own. Held its shape and softness through regular washing, which is more than most of my other blankets have managed.

Bought one for my mother-in-law's birthday after struggling to think of something she didn't already have. She's since asked where it's from, which I'm taking as a good sign.

I tend to react to synthetic fabrics against my skin, so cotton was the main thing I was looking for. No itching, no marks after a night under it — which is more than I can say for a couple of throws I've had before.

Packs down small enough to take on the train, and doesn't feel like carrying a duvet around. Used it on a few long journeys now instead of relying on whatever the seat covers give you.

Working from home most days, this lives on the back of my chair now. Light enough to just pull over my legs without overheating while I'm sat at the desk, unlike the wool blanket I tried first.

Not going to pretend a blanket fixes hot flushes, but this one at least doesn't make things worse. Cotton feels cooler against the skin than the polyester throw I had before.

My husband likes it warmer than I do at the moment, so this has become a bit of a compromise blanket — enough coverage for him, doesn't set me off like the duvet does on its own some nights.

Switched from a fleece throw to this after one too many 3am wake-ups feeling overheated. Muslin breathes so much better — still get warm flushes but at least I'm not fighting with a heavy blanket on top of it.

Going through menopause, I'm either too hot or throwing the covers off and getting cold five minutes later. This is light enough that I don't wake up drenched, but it's still something over me rather than nothing. Been my main blanket for a few months now.

I have a sheet & my muslin blanket over it. My duvet is now used by my cats! Sleep like a baby. Recently discharged from hospital after falling & breaking my hip, all bedding was too weighty on my legs. This blanket does what it says & is so light but warm when needed, cool when needed. Very pleased with it thank you.
